Today there are around 2 GW of offshore wind in the Baltic Sea. The cumulative potential capacity identified in the Baltic Sea by the European Commission (BEMIP Final Report, 2019) is over 93 GW, with a generation of 325 TWh/year (around 30% of the total energy consumption of the Baltic countries in 2016).
How can we exploit the full potential of offshore wind in the Baltic Sea? What can we learn from other countries’ experiences in terms of working together on something like this?
