In addition to its main events, WindEurope organises wind energy workshops in response to requests from members where participants can exchange experience on policy, finance and technical developments. As with all of our events, WindEurope workshops are organised ‘for the industry by the industry’.<\/p>\n

The highly popular technology workshops<\/strong> provide a quality platform for discussing specific issues at the best value for money for delegates, only possible because WindEurope – the sector’s non-profit organisation – does not have to generate profit for shareholders. A significant share of Europe\u2019s wind turbine fleet will come to the end of its projected lifetime within the next 10 to 15 years. In order to fulfill Europe\u2019s long-term decarbonisation agenda, the share of wind energy in the energy mix needs to grow further, and this outgoing generation capacity will have to be replaced.<\/p>\n

But this process is not as straightforward as it could seem.<\/p>\n

The first edition of WindEurope\u2019s End-of-Life Issues and Strategies (EoLIS) seminar<\/strong> brought together industry and academic experts to discuss the way forward.<\/p>\n

Resource Assessment 2019 – 5th edition<\/a><\/h3>\n

27 \u2013 28 June, Brussels, Belgium<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 5th<\/sup> edition of this technology workshop will focus on reducing uncertainty in wind farm resource assessment.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Through better models and validation tools, we can better estimate how much wind there is at a given site. As the scope of technology and ambition in wind energy continues to grow, innovative ideas will become ever more central to reducing uncertainty.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s why this workshop is not<\/u> about commercial content.<\/p>\n

Instead, we will be gathering Europe\u2019s leading wind tech experts for two days to explore real solutions for reducing uncertainty.<\/p>\n

Analysis of Operating Wind Farms 2018 \u2013 4th edition<\/a><\/h3>\n

The 2018 edition of Analysis of Operating Wind Farms focused on big data and innovative approaches to boost performance and optimise O&M strategies.<\/strong><\/p>\n

With wind energy companies recently experiencing swinging national energy policies, the programme addressed new insights and improved operations technology which will increase both efficiency and profits.<\/p>\n
