At a time of changing policy frameworks, we open WindEurope Summit 2016 by addressing the opportunities and obstacles the wind energy industry will face in the years ahead.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Olaf Sholz, <\/strong>Mayor of the City of Hamburg, will provide the welcome address to Summit participants, followed by a keynote speech from the Vice-President in charge of the Energy Union, European Commission, <strong>Maro\u0161 \u0160ef\u010dovi\u010d.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>WindEurope CEO, <strong>Giles Dickson<\/strong> will then chair a panel of CEOs of Europe&#8217;s leading wind energy companies to exchange views on Europe\u2019s changing industry.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CEOs at the panel discussion will include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Francesco Venturini<\/strong><br \/>\nChief Executive Officer and General Manager, ENEL Green Power S.p.A.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Lars Bondo Krogsgaard\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\nCEO, Nordex<\/li>\n<li><strong>Hans-Dieter Kettwig<\/strong><br \/>\nManaging Director, Enercon<\/li>\n<li><strong>Samuel Leupold<\/strong><br \/>\nExecutive Vice President Wind Power, DONG Energy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Sigmar Gabriel<\/strong>, Vice-Chancellor and Federal Minister of Economics and Energy of Germany is also confirmed to give the Opening Address.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It is clear that onshore and offshore wind are instrumental in generating the low-cost, low-carbon power needed to meet government targets and climate obligations.
