Jaakko Heinonen is principal investigator at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland LTD. He has more than 15 years’ experience regarding sea ice loads on offshore structures. His recent research activities have been focused on offshore wind turbines in ice-covered sea areas, especially to understand the challenges caused by ice ridges on support structures.
