DESCRIPTION:Permitting remains a stumbling block for the expansion of wind 
 energy in many parts of Europe. The revised Renewable Energy Directive  in
 troduced some good new rules. Where they've been implemented\, like in Ger
 many\, this has already made a huge difference. But other countries are no
 t moving fast enough in the implementation. More attention needs to be giv
 en to spatial planning\, digitalisation\, the creation of one-stop shops a
 nd the introduction of overriding public interest. This session will look 
 at how we can accelerate the process and unlock the countless projects tha
