Since signing its first PPA in 2019, it has contracted over 3,500 MW of renewable power in Europe, four times more than any other corporate over the period. Across Europe, Amazon has signed 34 projects in 9 countries which all support the development of new renewable projects and showcase its commitment to the EU&rsquo;s climate neutrality goals. Amazon continued to be the largest corporate buyer of wind energy in Europe in 2021, contracting almost 2.5 GW of power, and supporting the development of wind energy projects in 6 European countries. The company has also signed some of the largest PPAs for offshore wind capacity, taking advantage of the huge scale of offshore wind power and helping to drive a new trend in corporate purchases of offshore wind power.<\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n \t<div class=\"col-md\">\r\n\t <h3>Amazon Climate Pledge Fund<\/h3>\r\n \t\t<p>Amazon created The Climate Pledge Fund \u2014 a $2 billion investment to support the development of technologies and services that reduce carbon emissions.&nbsp; The AWS Clean Energy Accelerator, launched in 2021 was AWS&rsquo;s first accelerator focused on fostering rapid growth of clean tech innovations. The goal of the AWS Energy Accelerator is to help startups working in clean energy accelerate their impact, access additional resources, and expand their reach.
