What’s the Poul la Cour Award?<\/h3>\r\n

Named after wind power pioneer Poul la Cour, the Poul la Cour Award is a cooperative effort between WindEurope and the Poul la Cour Foundation<\/a>. Last awarded in 2019, the Poul la Cour Award is now to be a biennial award recognising the people who have made a unique contribution to wind power<\/strong> in Europe. See 2019 winner here<\/a>.<\/p>\r\n

This year, the Poul la Cour Award 2021 will be awarded at WindEurope Electric City 2021 in Copenhagen, Denmark (23-25 November).<\/p>\r\n

And you<\/strong> can nominate a candidate to win the award.<\/p>\r\n

Who can you nominate?<\/h3>\r\n

You can nominate anyone who has contributed to a unique and lasting improvement for the benefit of the development and use of wind power in Europe<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n

Criteria for receiving the award<\/h3>\r\n

The award is presented to a person who, through his\/her work, has contributed to a lasting improvement in the development and utilisation of wind power inclusive of Power2X which is used in connection with wind power. It may be a technical innovation, a contribution to improving\/understanding the economics of wind power or contributing to the improvement of wind power’s integration into society – both in terms of the public acceptance of wind turbines in the landscape and technical integration into the energy systems of European countries.<\/p>\r\n

Candidates can cover a wide range of scientific disciplines. There is no requirement in terms of a particular education or academic level, age, or number of years engaged in the wind power sector. The most important criterion is that the person has made a unique and continuous contribution to the increase development and utilisation of wind power in Europe. Your nominee must be living and working within the EU27\/EEA.<\/p>\r\n
